The Problem:

Significant animosity and disagreements exist between the mayors of the cities in Fulton County concerning the efficiency and cost in the delivery of county services. The County has not realigned its staff and budget for the delivery of county services to reflect the creation of the many new cities throughout Fulton County.

Decreased property tax revenue requires the creation of a smaller Fulton County that works smarter and more efficiently.
We need to assess the effectiveness of county agencies and the efficiency with which they use your tax dollars.
We must improve coordination between the county and cities to eliminate all duplication and redundancy of services.
We must work closely with the mayors of the 14 cities in Fulton County to develop service delivery contracts.

The Solution:

Fulton County must continue to provide the state-mandated services; however, all other services must be completely reassessed. In many cases, local services are most effectively and efficiently delivered by the municipalities at the point closest to actual delivery of the service. New leadership of the Commission is required to create a spirit of cooperation with the mayors and reassess how all services are delivered. We will justify every dollar spent on all county services to ensure the most efficient use of all tax dollars.
